Welcome

Thanks to all of NIAUSI's members, friends and Fellows who joined us on Friday, February 5, 2010 at NBBJ in Seattle for our "Restauro e Continuita'" gathering. It was a wonderful event and we will be sending out a newsletter report, including photographs from that evening.

Twenty-nine years after its formation, NIAUSI has become a member-supported organization, an initiative that has been planned for several years. We would be honored to have you join us.

The Northwest Institute for Architecture and Urban Studies in Italy (NIAUSI) is a member-supported nonprofit corporation established in 1981 by academics, architects, students, Italians, and professional members of the Pacific Northwest design community.

Originally intended as a means of involving the professional community in the learning experience provided by the Italian Studies Program of the University of Washington's College of Architecture and Urban Planning, NIAUSI's purpose has evolved and expanded to include working toward a better understanding of the complex urban design issues we face in the Pacific Northwest, promoting cultural exchange and excellence in the design quality of the built environment.
