Come to Italy and Stay in Civita di Bagnoregio

At certain levels of NIAUSI Membership, donors are granted the benefit of staying in private restored residences within the group of buildings maintained by NIAUSI.

Located approximately 60 miles north of Rome, in central Italy, Civita di Bagnoregio is an ancient and astonishing hilltown set within one of Europe’s most remarkable geological landscapes. With Etruscan underpinnings, Civita's first inhabitation predates the founding of Rome. The historic citadel of Civita does not provide for automobile access, allowing this hilltown to retain an unusually intact group of buildings, spaces and ambience dating largely from medieval and renaissance times.

The NIAUSI facilities include a series of historically-significant houses that have been restored over the past 40 years by Professor Astra Zarina and her husband and architect/collaborator Tony Costa Heywood, both of whom were among the founders of NIAUSI.

To reserve spaces in Civita and for further information about the Member Stay program and membership, please email us and provide us your requested dates for your stay and the number of people in your party.
